Target Information

Species

Drosophila melanogaster

Target Names

CG34191

Alternative Names

Ufm1; CG34191

Expression Region

1-83

Subcellular Location

Nucleus. Cytoplasm.

Protein Families

UFM1 family

Function

Ubiquitin-like modifier which can be covalently attached via an isopeptide bond to substrate proteins as a monomer or a lysine-linked polymer. The so-called ufmylation, requires the UFM1-activating E1 enzyme Uba5, the UFM1-conjugating E2 enzyme Ufc1, and the UFM1-ligase E3 enzyme Ufl1. This post-translational modification on lysine residues of proteins may play a crucial role in a number of cellular processes. The Ufm1 cascade might play a role in the development of the neuromuscular junctions.

Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20 °C/-80 °C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Lead Time

Delivery time may differ from different purchasing ways or locations, please kindly consult us for specific delivery times.

Storage & Handling

Storage Condition

Store at -20 °C/-80 °C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for multiple use.

Shelf Life

The shelf life is related to many factors, including storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature, and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20 °C/-80 °C.

Handling

Repeated freezing and thawing are not recommended.

Limitations

This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Store working aliquots at 4 °C for up to one week.
