Target Information

Species

Drosophila melanogaster

Target Names

phl

Alternative Names

Raf; ph; phl; CG2845; Raf homolog serine/threonine-protein kinase Raf; D-Raf; dRAF-1; EC 2.7.11.1; Protein pole-hole

Protein Families

Protein kinase superfamily, TKL Ser/Thr protein kinase family, RAF subfamily

Function

Serine/threonine kinase required in the early embryo for the formation of terminal structure. Also required during the proliferation of imaginal cells. May act downstream of Ras85D in the tor signal transduction pathway. During larval development, mediates Ptth/tor signaling leading to the production of ecdysone, a hormone required for the initiation of metamorphosis.

Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20 °C/-80 °C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Lead Time

Delivery time may differ from different purchasing ways or locations, please kindly consult us for specific delivery times.

Storage & Handling

Storage Condition

Store at -20 °C/-80 °C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for multiple use.

Shelf Life

The shelf life is related to many factors, including storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature, and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20 °C/-80 °C.

Handling

Repeated freezing and thawing are not recommended.

Limitations

This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Store working aliquots at 4 °C for up to one week.
