Recombinant D. melanogaster Protein four-jointed(fj), partial
- Catalog Number: CDRPO-3110323
- Size: 20 μg; 100 μg; 1000 μg
Target Information
Species | Drosophila melanogaster |
Target Names | fj |
Alternative Names | fj; CG10917; EC 2.7.11.1) [Cleaved into: Protein four-jointed; secreted isoform] |
Subcellular Location | Golgi apparatus membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein. Note=Golgi apparatus, in the wing pouch; [Protein four-jointed, secreted isoform]: Secreted. |
Protein Families | FJX1/FJ family |
Function | Golgi serine/threonine protein kinase required for intermediate growth in the proximal-distal axis. Phosphorylates specific residues within extracellular cadherin domains of Fat (ft) and Dachsous (ds) as they transit through the Golgi. Acts in ommatidial polarity determination as a secondary signal downstream of Notch, JAK/STAT and wingless. Also necessary for the initiation, up-regulation or maintenance of Notch ligand, Serrate (Ser) expression in legs, thereby participating in a feedback loop with N signaling. Sufficient for joint formation and growth in the leg. |

Storage & Handling
Storage Condition | Store at -20 °C/-80 °C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for multiple use. |
Shelf Life | The shelf life is related to many factors, including storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature, and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. |
Handling | Repeated freezing and thawing are not recommended. |
Limitations | This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Store working aliquots at 4 °C for up to one week. |
