Recombinant D. melanogaster Profilin(chic)
- Catalog Number: CDRPO-3110161
- Size: 20 μg; 100 μg; 1000 μg
Target Information
Species | Drosophila melanogaster |
Target Names | chic |
Alternative Names | chic; chi; CG9553; Profilin; Protein chickadee |
Expression Region | 1-126 |
Subcellular Location | Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. |
Protein Families | Profilin family |
Function | Binds to actin and affects the structure of the cytoskeleton. At high concentrations, profilin prevents the polymerization of actin, whereas it enhances it at low concentrations. By binding to PIP2, it inhibits the formation of IP3 and DG. This profilin is required for intercellular cytoplasm transport during Drosophila oogenesis. |

Reconstitution | We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20 °C/-80 °C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference. |

Storage & Handling
Storage Condition | Store at -20 °C/-80 °C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for multiple use. |
Shelf Life | The shelf life is related to many factors, including storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature, and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. |
Handling | Repeated freezing and thawing are not recommended. |
Limitations | This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Store working aliquots at 4 °C for up to one week. |
For research use only. Not intended for any clinical use.
